Since September 30, Boston Dynamics has named a new CEO, Agility Robotics has held its investor day, Minerva Humanoids has come out of stealth and Figure has retired its F.02. That’s a fairly ordinary week and a bit in the humanoid robot business right now, and it’s why a list of companies goes stale fast.

This directory covers the humanoid robot companies and the AI model companies building the software that controls robots. For each one, it shows what the company makes, where its main robot actually stands (demo, pilot, internal use or commercial), whether a price is published, and the latest dated milestone from a primary source. It profiles 22 companies as of October 2026 and lists 11 more with profiles pending. The status labels are our reading of what each company has shown. We don’t take marketing language at face value: a robot in a staged video and a robot doing paid work in a customer’s building get different labels. Every entry carries the date of the latest fact we verified, and we update the page when companies announce products, funding or leadership changes. It was last updated October 7, 2026.

How we label each company

  • Demo: shown in videos or at events, with no stated customer use.
  • Prototype / in development: the company says the product is not finished.
  • Internal use: working in the maker’s own facilities.
  • Pilot: on trial with a named customer or partner, usually on a limited task.
  • Commercial: sold or leased to customers, at a listed price or under contract.
  • Teleoperated: a person controls the robot remotely, fully or in part. We flag this wherever the company says so. See our teleoperation vs. autonomy guide.

Funding amounts are as announced by the company unless marked “reported”. Our robotics funding tracker has the full round details. Every published price is in our humanoid robot prices guide, and capability comparisons are in our best humanoid robots of 2026.

The robot-brain companies: AI model makers

These companies build the AI models that let robots see, plan and act. Most work across many robot bodies rather than building their own humanoid. For background, see what a vision-language-action model is.
