Unitree Robotics sells three humanoids with public prices: the R1, the G1 and the H2. As of October 4, 2026, Unitree’s own pages list the R1 from $4,900, the G1 from $13,500 and the H2 at $29,900, in US dollars and excluding tax and shipping. Unlike most humanoids, these have published list prices, which makes them easy to compare, but price is only part of the buying picture. This guide puts the manufacturer’s specifications side by side, flags where marketing and specification tables differ, and covers costs and conditions the list price leaves out. Every number below comes from Unitree’s own site or store on the access date; none is independently tested.

Unitree H2
| Spec | H2 |
|---|---|
| Price | $29,900 in the store; H2 EDU: contact sales |
| Size and weight | 1820 × 456 × 218 mm; about 70 kg |
| Degrees of freedom | 31 (6 per leg, 7 per arm, 3 waist, 2 head) |
| Joint torque | Arm joint 120 N·m; leg joint 360 N·m |
| Arm payload | Peak about 15 kg; rated about 7 kg (company figures) |
| Materials | Aircraft-grade aluminum, titanium alloy, engineering plastics |
| Battery | 15 Ah (0.972 kWh), max 75.6 V; about 3 hours life |
| Compute | Intel Core i5 (EDU: Core i7); a high-power module is listed as an EDU accessory |
| Warranty | 8 months (EDU 12) |
Note the compute ambiguity. Unitree’s H2 page headlines a “2070 TOPS” chip, but the specification table lists an Intel Core i5 as the standard compute and the high-power module as optional. Until Unitree clarifies, treat the 2070 TOPS figure as applying to the optional module.
What the list price does not include
- Shipping and duties. Unitree’s store states shipping of $300 to $1,200 and that customers are responsible for customs duties and taxes. We did not research US tariff rates for these products, so we cannot say what duty applies. For the G1, shipping alone would put the minimum delivered price at about $13,800 before duties and taxes.
- Development access. The store says the base models do not support secondary development. Programming your own behaviors requires the EDU versions, which have no public price.
- Warranty length. Warranty periods are short (6 to 8 months on base models). EDU models carry 12 to 18 months.
- Availability. The G1 store page displayed a backorder message when we fetched it. The R1 page showed both “In Stock” and an R1 Air backorder message. Store stock changes and can conflict between messages, so confirm with Unitree or a reseller.
Reading the specs: claims versus evidence
Unitree’s G1 page includes caution language worth reading. It says the humanoid robot industry “is in the early stages of exploration,” advises individual users to thoroughly understand the limitations before buying, and says some sample functions on the page “are still being developed and tested.” It also asks users to keep a safe distance. These are the manufacturer’s own caveats, and they are consistent with a research and education product rather than an appliance.
When comparing, separate four kinds of statement: specification-table numbers (the most checkable, though still company-provided), peak versus rated values (the H2 lists both for payload), marketing videos (company-selected demonstrations), and capabilities listed as under development. Our guide to teleoperation versus autonomy explains how to read the videos. For the broader market and where Unitree sits, see best humanoid robots in 2026 and the definition of a humanoid robot.
US import and FCC context
In July 2026 the FCC added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List; our explainer, FCC Covered List and foreign-made robots, covers the rule in detail. For Unitree buyers, the relevant points are:
- The FCC says the rule blocks new models from authorization, while previously authorized models may still be imported and sold, and owners may keep using devices they bought.
- Unitree has said, in its STAR Market IPO prospectus as reported by Global Times on July 31, 2026, that its G1, H2 and R1 humanoids and its Go2, B2 and A2 quadrupeds all received FCC authorization before the policy. That is a company statement we have not verified in the FCC’s own system. The third-party site fccid.io lists Unitree filings under grantee code 2A5PE, but it does not show grant dates for the 2026 R1 and H2 entries.
- Unitree’s prospectus, per the same report, flags the risk that the FCC could revoke existing authorizations or extend restrictions. No such action on robots had been found as of October 4, 2026.
Checklist before you order
- Decide whether you need the base model or the EDU. If you plan to write your own software, only EDU supports it, and you must go through sales.
- Ask for the FCC ID and authorization record for the exact model and revision you will receive.
- Get a landed-cost quote that includes shipping, duties, taxes and any import broker fees.
- Ask for the battery-life test conditions and expected delivery date in writing.
- Check what warranty service covers, and where repairs happen.
- Plan safety: keep people clear, as Unitree advises, and use fall protection.
- Do not buy based on a video. Ask which behaviors ship in the product software today.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the Unitree G1 cost?
Unitree’s product page says the G1 starts from US $13.5K and its online store lists $13,500, excluding tax and shipping. The store states shipping of $300 to $1,200 and says the customer is responsible for customs duties and taxes. The G1 EDU version is sold through sales contact with no list price.
What is the difference between the Unitree G1 and G1 EDU?
Per Unitree’s spec table, the EDU has more configurable degrees of freedom (23 to 43 versus 23), higher knee torque (120 vs 90 N·m), a higher arm load (about 3 kg vs 2 kg), an optional force-controlled three-fingered hand, a longer warranty (18 vs 8 months) and support for secondary development, which the base G1 lacks.
Can the Unitree R1 or G1 do household chores?
Unitree does not market them as finished household helpers. Its page states that some sample functions are still being developed and tested and advises individual users to understand the limitations before buying. Base models do not support secondary development, so useful behavior depends on what Unitree ships and on its EDU or developer tools.
Can I buy Unitree humanoids in the US after the FCC Covered List change?
Unitree says the G1, H2 and R1 received FCC authorization before the July 28, 2026 rule, and the FCC says previously authorized models may still be sold. This is a company statement we could not independently verify in the FCC’s own database. See our FCC explainer and check the FCC ID with the seller.
Is Unitree’s H2 really a 2070 TOPS robot?
Unitree’s H2 page headlines a 2070 TOPS chip, but its specification table lists an Intel Core i5 computer on the standard H2 (Core i7 on the EDU) and shows a high-power module as an optional accessory. We read the 2070 TOPS figure as applying to the optional module, but Unitree has not clarified that.
